La Trappa - Sordevolo -
La Trappa, costruita nella seconda metà del Settecento dai lanieri Ambrosetti, fu abitata tra il 1796 e il 1802 da una comunità di monaci trappisti in fuga dalla Francia rivoluzionaria. L'Associazione della Trappa lega le ricerche sulle origini e la costruzione del monastero ad azioni di tutela attiva del paesaggio dell'Alto Elvo, definendo nuovi percorsi per il recupero dell'architettura rurale. È raggiungibile dalla SP512 del Tracciolino (8 km a ovest del Santuario di Oropa - ultimi 10 minuti a piedi), oppure da Sordevolo (60 minuti a piedi).
La Trappa, built in the second half of the eighteenth century by the Ambrosetti wool workers, was inhabited between 1796 and 1802 by a community of Trappist monks fleeing revolutionary France. The Associazione della Trappa links the research on the origins and the construction of the monastery to actions of active protection of the landscape of the Alto Elvo, defining new paths for the recovery of the rural architecture. It can be reached from the SP512 del Tracciolino (8 km west of the Sanctuary of Oropa - last 10 minutes on foot), or from Sordevolo (60 minutes on foot).
